Fender Katana MIJ 1986 Pewter
A 1986 Fender Katana in original pewter metallic color, a very unconventional take on a Flying V.
Built by Fender and designed by marketing director Dan Smith in 1985: designed to compete with the unconventionally-shaped guitars of the era, such as the Jackson Randy Rhoads, and to satisfy Fender dealers who were suffering from the competition those instruments offered.
The Katana did not sell as well as Fender hoped, and it was discontinued in 1986 before being reissued as a Masterbuilt Custom Shop model as part of the Prestige collection three decades later.
Pretty shape showing some cosmetic wear and some dings to the finish on the body, see the provided pix and video for best idea of overall cosmetic condition.
Frets are in good condition.
All of the controls work as intended and the guitar is fully original.
Includes hardcase.
